During the test, students are not allowed to perform actions that show signs of cheating such as marking papers. So what is post markup and how is this behavior handled? The above question will be clarified through the content of the article What is bookmarking? Is there a deduction of test scores, low conduct?
1. Regulations on assessing student conduct:
Clause 1, Article 3 Regulations on assessment and grading of junior high school students and high school students Promulgated together with Circular 58/2011/TT-BGDDT Regulations on the basis of assessment and classification of conduct are as follows:
“Assess students’ conduct based on specific manifestations of ethical attitudes and behaviors; behave in relation to teachers, teachers, officials, employees, family, friends and social relations; the sense of striving to excel in learning; results of labor participation, collective activities of the class, school and society; exercise, maintain hygiene and protect the environment”
Results of comments on attitudes and behaviors of students in the general education program of the Minister of Education and Training at primary and lower secondary levels related to the content of civic education.
2. What is bookmarking?
Marking the lesson is the case where a student takes the test with two-color ink, uses a red pen, draws a picture with a pencil (except for a circle drawing), has special symbols, and the work is crumpled. Doing this creates a loophole in the exam, not ensuring the seriousness, objectivity and fairness of the exam. Therefore, the score is strictly prohibited in the test rules and with the corresponding rules of use.
3. Marking the exam will be deducted points?
According to Point e Clause 4 Article 14 Regulations on high school graduation exams (Issued together with the Circular No. 15/2020/TT-BGDDT dated May 26, 2020 of the Minister of Education and Training) stipulates as follows:
“4. The following rules must be observed in the examination room:
[…] e) Not to mark or make a separate symbol, not to write with a pencil, except to fill in the boxes on the TLTN Form; be written in only one color of ink (red ink may not be used);”
In addition, point c, Clause 2, Article 27 of this Regulation provides as follows:
“c) In case the test is found to have insufficient number of sheets and beats; the exam is done on scratch paper; the paper-based test is different from the paper used for the exam; the test has the handwriting of two or more people, written in two or more different colors of ink, written in red ink, pencil or with writing or drawing content unrelated to the exam content; crumpled or questionable exam papers are marked, the CBCT is responsible for reporting and handing these tests over to the Examination Team Leader for submission to the Head of Examination for handling;”
Article 54 of this Regulation regulates the handling of candidates who violate the Exam Regulations, in which, point c, clause 4 of this Article stipulates: “Exams with markings detected during marking will be deducted 50% of the total marks. post”.
Accordingly, candidates are not allowed to make their own markings, symbols, or pencils, except to fill in the boxes of the multiple choice answer sheets; The test is written in only one color (do not use red ink). In case of being marked, the examiner, i.e. the examiner, must re-read these questions and hand them over to the head of the re-examination team and the head of the re-examination division. The form of handling is to deduct scores from the tests, specifically, tests with marks detected during marking will be deducted 50% of the total score.
It can be seen that marking the cards is a violation of the exam regulations with a fairly heavy level of handling, greatly affecting the exam results and admission to universities and colleges of candidates. Therefore, candidates need to be careful not to be identified as marking the post, otherwise they will be handled in violation of the rules of the exam.
4. Is the post marked with low conduct?
According to Articles 3 and 4 of the Regulation on Evaluation and Classification of Middle School Students and High School Students (Issued together with Circular No. 58/2011/TT-BGDDT dated December 12, 2011 of the Minister Ministry of Education and Training) stipulates as follows:
“– Assess students’ conduct based on specific manifestations of ethical attitudes and behaviors; behave in relation to teachers, teachers, officials, employees, family, friends and social relations; the sense of striving to excel in learning; results of labor participation, collective activities of the class, school and society; Exercise, maintain hygiene and protect the environment
– Conduct is classified into 4 categories: Good (T), good (K), average (Tb), weak (Y) after each semester and the whole school year. The grading of conduct throughout the school year is mainly based on the Semester II conduct rating and student progress:

e) Fully participate in educational activities and activities organized by the school; actively participate in activities of Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers Team, Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union;
g) Having the right attitude and behavior in practicing ethics and lifestyle according to the content of the subject of Citizenship Education.
2/ Fair type:
Complying with the provisions of Clause 1 of this Article but not reaching the level of good; There are still shortcomings but promptly corrected after teachers, teachers and friends give feedback.
3/ Medium type:
There are some shortcomings in the implementation of the provisions of Clause 1 of this Article, but the level is not serious; after being reminded, education has been absorbed and corrected, but progress is still slow.
4/ Weak type:
Has not met the average rating criteria or has one of the following defects:
a) There are serious or repeated violations in the implementation of the provisions of Clause 1 of this Article, which have been educated but have not been corrected;
b) Disrespectful, insulting dignity and honor, infringing upon the body of teachers and school staff; offend your honor or dignity or that of others;
c) Cheating in studying, testing and taking exams;
d) Fighting, disrupting order and peace at school or in society; traffic safety violations; causing damage to public property or property of others.”
It can be seen that according to the provisions of the law mentioned in part 1 above, the marking of articles does not necessarily affect the entire conduct. Because as mentioned, the assessment of conduct is the assessment of the entire process of activities. student action and learning.
However, awareness of non-compliance with exam regulations is also an important criterion for assessing conduct. Therefore, violation of the marking rules can still be considered academic misconduct.
